The Reputation System

As part of some upgrades in the board system the staff have decided to activate the Reputation System. This allows members to give others plus points or minus points. This feature can give staff an idea on the development of members and how they are getting on around the site.

This useful feature should not be abused by anyone. It is for an information basis only and does not mean that one member is better than another. Any misuse or acts of jealousy will result in a warning.

You can use this feature by clicking on the plus or minus buttons beside each persons post. You may do this if the user was helpful etc. You can also give minus points if you think the user's attitude is bad or is being rude. Reputation points can be gained by pressing the Thanks button as well. Points may be seen below-

Positive Vote- +1
Negative Vote- -1
Thanks Vote- +3

The Staff hope that this feature will be useful to both members and staff a like.

The + is positive and the - is negative.

AWWWWW JCC's reputation is 23 and mine is 0... does that mean I'm average? Also, I would like it to be fixed, and to be right under the + button, that way people who wanted to give me -1 would give me +3(a tree of pluses(lol)) and I'd be happy...

This isn't a great idea from my point of view, but I don't mind as long as you don't rate my posts.

The thanks button is at the top of every post. This can't be changed and I admit would be better beside the others.

I'm sorry to some members, I'm not sure who, but someone *coughmysistercough* has voted a ton negativly. I'm not sure who, but I'm trying to get everyone back to normal

I love the idea, it will help me a lot. I will now know be able to learn from my posting mistakes by viewing the reputation.

I think we are going to do away with the who feature completely.

I think removing it is a good idea, It seems people are just posting to get points. And also It seems it's not always about the post its self. Like wacky has -2 and the posts that caused that were not anything you could agree or disagree with. Also on Cad Banes intro topic has neg on it because he likes on starwars episode [please correct me if I am wrong] more then another. This is not a good way to start off a new member. I am not really sure what it offers.

I'm with Octan on this. I don't see how this is going to help anybody, besides creating alot of bad feelings. That's just my opinion. And of course the Administrators have the highest reputation!

Yes, I am not on his side..... But the negs where on one or two word posts. It seemed like it was a personal attack and not agreeing or disagreeing. And I don't also see how it could help mods, should'nt a mod be able to see how a member is doing, by being an active member of a forum. And I haven't seen one good use of it yet. The things that are being voted on are mostly by mods or favors [like promoting] you do for the forum. This really does not show how a member is doing. And also, we are growing quickly, we have 60 members, and hunderds if not thousands of posts. I see posts being marked before this even started. We are growing quickly, who will control this. All I see is it being abused, when we grow. This just seems like a way to let out pent up anger. If you want to thank the person, I think most of us would prefer to have it written out. And also you can't see on what post you got the rep., so if it is a neg, you don't know how to fix it.
