2011/2012 Super Hero Speculation Topic

First off, I'm not just doing the petition thing I have been going on about for ages, I actually have some "semi-evidence"
So I was just testing out the relatively new search-engine "Bing" and stumbled upon the Wikipedia entry for Lego Batman.
Being the avid Batman fan I am, I decided to enter, and saw some interesting stuff.
When I arrived at the section called "Discontinued", here's what I found:

DiscontinuedThe line has since been discontinued, but Lego has hinted at Lego Batman's comeback, telling Lego fans to "keep an eye out" for new sets.It has been said that the original sets will come back in stores including the sets from The Dark Knight and new sets for the new Batman movie The Dark Knight Rises.

And:

(...)Coming 2011,Lego will release old and new sets.The movie "The Dark Night Rises" will ford new sets.

So tell me what you think, I just jumped out of happyness as I read this, mainly since I have missed out on the first batcave and have been waiting for a re-relese for a while(We've had 5 MF's[not counting with the mini] over the years, let's hope they do the same with the batcave ).

What about you guys? Post your comments down below, tell me if you think it's good they are re-releasing old ones and if you think it'll be good for them to relate it to "The Dark Knight Rises" or not(ever since I heard about it's production, I have suspected it), and why.

Wikipedia, you can edit it. I highly doubt this, and lego has not had a good history with re-issues and I doubt Batman will be any different. The movies are are getting to dark for lego.

Way to be a... I can't find an appropriate word...

Also, The lego group said "keep a look out for it" and the movie is coming really fast, plus, they still have the licenses from DC and Warner Bros.

Sorry if I offended you with my opinion, but I don't think this is going to happen. Trio and Mega both have Warner Bros sets going. I just don't think it is going to happen.

Don't know if it'll happen, but I really hope!

So? I can still hope, plus batman is owned by WB AND DC, the original sets were based on DC solely, WB will only be involved in the process if they sell sets based on "The Dark Knight Returns" and re-release the 08 sets.
It's been 3 years, I just want it back, for crying out loud.

I just think you are being too pessimistic, I guess I'll have to wait 'till summer before I can have any clues as to the new Batman sets.

Reissuing sets is pretty rare, and as Octan has said wikipedias can be edited by anyone.

Okay all please just keep this to speculation and don't just say that this won't happen. Even though there is not solid proof there is still some proof. So just keep this as a speculation topic.

Also, they probably will, I'm not sure about new designs, but rumors have been going on that two of the villains are gonna be Talia Al Ghul and Black mask so expect:
Talia(assured if they make movie based sets)
Black Mask(assured if they make movie based sets)
Ra's Al Ghul(possibly)
Maybe one of the members of the league of assassins like Lady Shiva(possibly)

I wish they update some of the villains, because some of them were just... weird...

And I wish they did a whole DC Superheroes theme, because there are some heroes that would make great lego sets, like Superman, Aquaman, and the Blue Beatle Beetle

The problem is, even if they released all of these, I wouldn't be able to buy them all...

It was discontinued when the dark night came out, I'm guessing its because LEGO don't want to promote the violence from the dark night.

There is a BIG possibility for the line to resume next year, with the new movie and all.

The movies are why it ended. TLG didn't want their products to support such violent movies. They still have the licence, and it will blow over after the next movie's "Batman-mania" ends.

Maybe with the (overly) kid-oriented Batman: The Brave and The Bold, Lego could make a series based on that. Not just Batman, but a ton of characters from all over the DC universe

It's possible that Lego Batman is returning because they did not make that many new sets for mid summer. They may be planning something big, also Harry Potter returned with its new movie which had violence.

I agree with most of everything you said. LEGO does have a Cartoon Network licence, so the only Batman we would be seeing is "The Brave and the Bold". The new movies are way to dark, and being almost 13, Two-Face in "The Dark Knight" makes me really scared. I don't think Movie Batman is happening, only animated characters looking like this:

I agree though, and those sets wouldn't be entirely bad, I watched a few TBATB eps and I really enjoyed it, my grandad(huge movie and comic buff, also my inspiration) actually considers it a decent enough show.

As I was saying, now that you've cooled off, here's what might have happened:

1: They talked it out with WB and will be selling sets with the release of The Dark Knight Rises (link to teaser: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q-Sktgm0aD8 it's official, btw)

2: They decided to upload them on youtube since they hadn't yet.


Either way this is reason enough for us to start up with the speculation again.

I'm sensitive. I also have nyctophobia , or severe fear of darkness. If someone turns off a light, I go into a panic attack. Seriously, and because of his charred face that is skeletal and it's in the shadows, it scares me quite a bit. Think about it.

And I still think the Batman is going to be the "Brave and the Bold". They have a licence with CartoonNetwork as well, so the chances of that are high.

It's gonna be released on January 2012, it's gonna feature the more famous heroes from DC(and villains, including the joker :B).

It's also going to have a booth in the San Diego comic con, if anyone's near I9 encourage you to stop by and please get us some info, they will also be selling exclusives there, don't know what, but goodies are... well... goodies.

The Minifigs look really awesome but the set I think is just for a bionicle sub-theme. It looks like bionicle to me. The real sets are probably going to come out in January with the minifigs.
