It's been a while since anyone voted. What do some of our NEW members think of this ancient question?

Re: Mac or PC?
Just an update for me, I run three on my Mac Pro. I run Mac OSX, Windows 8 (beta build) and Ubuntu. My Mac Pro is at the point where I can run all three at once and I find they all have good things to offer, and also cons on each. I will happily continue using all three (And maybe add an another, if I need it).

Re: Mac or PC?
I currently use only Mac OS 10.6 on both computers I use, but I have an old Toshiba laptop with Windows XP that I'm trying to find a new monitor for. Once I have one I'm going to hack it and install Ubuntu...
Re: Mac or PC?
you're going to hack it? xD you're simply going to re-install the OS, hacking relates to connecting your device to an adress(IP) you don't own and using it for yourself -.-

Re: Mac or PC?
Technically Mac OSX requires Hacking/Modding (either term could be used) to uninstall itself, it is a major pain to do, there is no way to easily uninstall it easily, other than having to use Bootcamp. But lets get back on topic.
Hacking and Modding can be used as the same, the terms have almost became one, using Hacking for either a OS or a network is a normal use. If you want to go into it the words have different original meanings but now that many OS's are reliant on a network, they become more or less the same.

Re: Mac or PC?
Sorry about this last off-topic post, but I rather preffer calling it modding, since you're doing it to your devices(for example, both my nintendo wii and psp go, though I could say they were hacked, I prefer saying they were modded[or soft-modded, seeing as it was done digitally, without the aid of a modchip] whilst, for it to be hacked, one would assume it was connected to the internet to start)
Sorry, I see your point but it sounds weird to meh :L

Re: Mac or PC?
Since I am on my MacBook and haven't had any problems with it in years I must say MAC.
Re: Mac or PC?
Hacking refers to simply "Repurposing an electronic device," so if you were to take apart a printer and re-assemble it to print on LEGO, you would be hacking it. But yes, back on topic.Henri da Flipper wrote:you're going to hack it? xD you're simply going to re-install the OS, hacking relates to connecting your device to an adress(IP) you don't own and using it for yourself -.-
