Does Lego ignore girls?

If we think about it for a moment, LEGO seems to only pay attention to boys. Most of us haven't noticed this - but it is a serious issue! Girls like the town sets a lot, but when they receive a LEGO City set for Christmas which only contains 1 women out of 20 minifigs, it is just not fair! As a boy, if I get a LEGO set with only girl minifigs, I will definetely leave it lying in oblivion.

Yet, parents are still trying to help their daughters by looking up in the internet women minifigs or some LEGO items to customize the minifig. Here I leave you with a video of a girl explaining to LEGO her problem:

That girl has a future in television. That video was great to listen too and I agree with her points completely. Lego have always been slightly biased towards males, if I remember the total ratio of male minifigures to female minifigures is 18:1.

That is terrible for a 21st century company. I know they try hard to put one in where it is right but they don't do it enough. I have a shortage of female heads because they are in very little sets.

I hope that in the future this will change to a more equal state than what it is in now.

Does anyone have the Percentage Rate or Ratio for boys to girls buying sets? Maybe that's why there is discrimination.

There may have been berelville or watever it was called but that was discontinued so I totally agree with her. I sometimes think when I get a set "why does there have to be a girl?" Like this monring in my kingdoms advent calender it was a princess but now I think- "well why dont they make a girl advent calender.Girls would like to some more female figs an some boys probably want to see more males instead of the odd female or 2.

I laughed at this! Funny, yet true! Although, Lego is slowly coming out with more "female" minifigures.

Good points. If I was a LEGO designer and I saw this I would immediatly make a girl based LEGO line. But, we must remember, that it seems that most LEGO buyers are boys. And LEGO is a company, and we must remember, that it aims to make a profit. If being profitable, excludes girls, it's their choice.

Yeah, that seems true... Lego used to do this stuff called Paradisa, as my 7 year-old sister wanted Belville, but changed her mind for her present on her 6th birthday. Lego don't do Paradisa anymore and in the 90's and 00's, when it was in stock, it had a fair population of Female minifigures. To be honest, it was round the other way, as there was a set with five "Girly-girl" minifigures and two Male butlers. But today Lego should buck their ideas up and not allow discrimination to the sexes.

If I got a LEGO set set that was fully women, I would keep it, because They are more hard to find than men
