CUUSOO On a Rampage
CUUSOO On a...
After the Shaun of the Dead debacle, we where doubting what would happen to CUUSOO, but it has been moving like crazy, and two more projects have gotten 10,000 supporters.
DeLorean Time Machine
The Time Machine from Back to the Future, it just recently hit and there is no statement from LEGO yet. It was on the old Beta Build of the Japanese Site (Back a year or two ago) but with the english release it finally had enough to get to 10,000.

EVE Online Ships - Rifter
Another project pulled through by the fans of a series, this ship is from the game EVE Online.

Also Couple Updates:
Modular Western Town: 7650
The Legend of Zelda: 6988
My Little Pony - Friendship is Magic: 5522

Re: CUUSOO On a Rampage
They are actually making a Back to the Future re-make (yuck!) and a BTTF LEGO theme is not out of the question.
However I have no clue what the heck the other thing is... so... I don't know.

Re: CUUSOO On a Rampage
Still never heard of it before now, but it looks pretty cool! Too much of a Halo kind of theme, though. But we need a new space line!
Re: CUUSOO On a Rampage
The Back to the Future Lego set looks great. I want. But the news of a remake? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
Re: CUUSOO On a Rampage
aren't the good guys in halo called space marines?
also, Jack, I think younger audiences also need the joy we had when watching the originals... plus they could improve alot and maybe make a decent third movie...

Re: CUUSOO On a Rampage
A couple little update:
Projects that reached 10,000
Waiting for review in June
The Legend of Zelda
Modular Western Town
Turned down
Firefly (http://lego.cuusoo.com/ideas/view/12902)
Reason:
"The primary reason we have decided not to consider the Firefly IP for a LEGO product is the Inara Serra character, who is a "companion," or prostitute. This character and her profession are central to the story in the Firefly TV series. The character is inextricably linked to the story, and it isn’t possible to produce the model and license the IP without creating a link between the LEGO brand and this character."

Re: CUUSOO On a Rampage
They all look great, just a quick question to all of you.
If you built a really good MOC, would you post it on CUUSOO, even though all past 10,000-ers have been from Games/Movies?

Re: CUUSOO On a Rampage
Good question, Octan. As a huge soccer/football fan, I would love to see some re-released soccer sets, and possibly some licenses from major club and national teams. I know for a fact that Lego is a major sponsor for FC Bayern Munich, so getting licenses for teams would be hard.
Now that I think of it, I may submit a Lego Soccer CUUSOO......

Re: CUUSOO On a Rampage
If I'm not wrong, they also sponsor SLB ovah here, mainly since there is a huge lego built stadium in their stadium's atrium...

Re: CUUSOO On a Rampage
My Little Pony has been turned down at 7,000 votes. Ghost in the Shell (A Mahj project with something like 9,000 supports) had to be pulled down and is now being re-done as the rights for Ghost in the Shell could not be purchased, so it now has to be re-done without the theme of Ghost in the Shell.

Re: CUUSOO On a Rampage
My Little Pony being rejected is actually amazing. IMO it would be a wonderful idea for a girl's toy line, but alas LEGO and Hasbro aren't on the best of terms...
Re: CUUSOO On a Rampage
The Starwars Dark Bucket has been turned down, again because of Hasbro.

That's just stupid, Hasbro doesn't do anything like that. Who has the right to patent multipacks?Octan wrote:The Starwars Dark Bucket has been turned down, again because of Hasbro.
Re: CUUSOO On a Rampage
It's not that they have it patented. Lucas Arts gave them exclusive rights to sell only figures, and gave LEGO the right to make contraction sets. And because of the whole Kre-o thing among others, it just can't be done.JCC1004 wrote:That's just stupid, Hasbro doesn't do anything like that. The push for LEGO Portal 2 has reached over 9000 votes (Not a joke) and should hit 10,000 within a day or two.

Another great project I found:
http://lego.cuusoo.com/ideas/view/22758
It has just over 3,000 supporters and Brickset is predicting 10,000 by the end of the week because it has been picked up by so many news sites.

I really like it also, all the work the people put into the set-design and just the time it takes to render out all of those pictures is monumental. I hope Valve agrees to take up this license because to have Portal sets would be amazing.Bossky wrote:I really like this Portal idea:

Octan, I think Gabe Newell will agree as long as they don't make 3 or more sets. (GABEN JOKE!)

Re: CUUSOO On a Rampage
Met the guy who made the Portal set at BrickFair, he says there's a very good chance it'll become a theme. All they need is Valve's approval and they're very open about that sort of thing.

Indeed, it would be a nice honor to Neil by Lego.
I also really like the sandcrawler, though I doubt Lego would make anything THAT big.

Re: CUUSOO On a Rampage
Yes, but Neil Armstrong flew on Apollo 11, which was a rocket, which was needed because of the need for a landing on the moon. Here is a graphic that kind of explains it, but then again you are right that they have already done the whole space thing.Henri da Flipper wrote:Haven't they already made a shuttle set?

Re: CUUSOO On a Rampage
It's going to be a far way to 10,000 for this one, but I thought it was very cool, Theo Jansen's Strandbeest.
It only has about 900 supporters but it would be great to see as a set.

The summer review is still under progress, mostly because of the abundance of licensed themes. But Space Maines is just 500 votes away from making the winter review, lets get it there!

Space Marines has hit 10,000, but it is doubtful it will happen as Galaxy Squad is being released shortly.
