2014/15 Theme Discussion

As you can see above, an absolute TON of pictures of the new Mixels line have been leaked. This series looks like it could be the best yet from the rare purple parts to the adorable brown seal!  

Here is the first image we have of the Series 12 figures! The clear standout being, of course, the custom printed Greek sword with the wonderfully accurate quatrefoil-design on the edges! Stunning design work!  

It looks like the long-aniquited LEGO Education may be getting some updates, or even new products, as Brickset publishes pictures of the plastic trays that often come with Education line products! Hopefully this will mark the return of Lego Education for a source for bulk, rare, and cheap parts as it was in the early 2000s!

The new BTTF set isn't the only thing going back this week! LEGO appears to be getting back to producing Lightup Keychains after this image was released this week.

LEGO just finished adding the rest of the sets to the Shop at Home site so be sure to snap them up soon. The rush for these shouldn't be too bad as we are not near a holiday, but I said the same thing about the Simpsons mini figures, and look where that got me (Hint: On Backorder).

Brickset just published a great review of 75048: The Phantom! Be sure to check it out as it as some great pictures of the set not yet seen from other sources!

It looks like LEGO is coming back to their combo-sets at full force with the release of these collage images of several sets that we suspect will be added to the Shop At Home network any day now. It is certainly an interesting decision and it is even more intriguing to consider possible motives such as encouraging sales of "failed" sets!

You know it's a slow news week when we bring some Juniors sets up to the major leagues but some really interesting pictures just got added to LEGO's catalogue!

Here is a picture, from Brickset, of the Vitruvius minifigure that will be sure included in the 'Everything Is Awesome Edition! This figure will be surely valuable with such a limited distribution.

This image of the Phineas and Ferb game that was rumored to come out in 2012, then pushed back to 2013 in the mind of speculating fans, and finally to 2014 as we met another year of this phantom set appearing in distributor calendars but seemingly nonexistent anywhere else. Today we get what appears to be the final part in the saga of the set's existence, a pixelated image of what appears to be non final box art for the rumored game. While the set's praises were sung by fans for the two years of uncertainty, it comes to us today as this image, unfinished, and indefinitely dead in the water.

The LEGO Movie is out on DVD today including the Everything is Awesome edition which is the gem in most of our eyes. Even if you can't justify the $35+ special edition be sure to pick it up in some form because freeze-frames from this movie are absolutely beautiful and will make great desktop backgrounds.
