General Photography
It was about time for a General Photography topic! Try to keep all photos here G-Rated, please. Photography, as being a major hobby of mine [Possibly bigger then Lego], I was thinking it would be interesting to let others share their photographs!
This morning I was able to sneak into a old warehouse, all of the shots can been seen on my Flickr, but here are some better ones.

Yeah... I had a rather fun time. And to anyone who is reading this, I highly recommend visiting a old warehouse or any other old building, you can really get some nice photographs.blhc11 the great wrote:Oh this was the warehouse you snuck into and then had to run from because of the police?

Re: General Photography
A Nikon D300s with a remote flash, and for a lenses I either use a Quick-Change 35 MM, 30-40 MM, and a 100-250 for really close up stuff. I started out with a D3000 and most of these shots could be taken with a D3000 or even a D5000 with one or two lenses. For my gear bag, I always carry thisperthpoke wrote:What camera do you use?
•Knife [Swiss Army] to remove plants in a shot
• Light Jacket
• Black T-shirt [Sometimes put like this] for dust and if there is high Police activity
• Lens cloth
• Second T-shirt [green] if I need to hide in vegetation it is great camo.
• Water
• Water shoes
If I am doing any other shot, I pack a lot lighter... But for something high-risk like this, I have to pack heavy.
Remember, this thread is not just for me. Share your photos, also.

Re: General Photography
Haha... I try to do everything within the law, this site [Warehouse] was not marked so I was not breaking any laws... I hardly ever need to use the camo, but the mask is often used if I am entering a dusty room. Once I explain what I am doing, the Police nine out of ten times will let me back in, but explaining takes time. It is dangerous, but mostly legal.JCC1004 wrote:You sound sinister Octan!

Great photos!, I especially like the first one. You would never think it was in a warehouse.

Re: General Photography
Just the kind of stuff that makes you think of ghosts and paranormal activity. (I watch too much "Ghost Adventures") I just find it fascinating, how much buildings reflect on it's history and past...it's freaky.
Re: General Photography
I am also fan of Ghost Adventures. I am fascinated with abandoned buildings, and history. I live in a house that is aprox. 300 years old [Built in 1690] and I am always finding new things on the land, making shoots like this are sort of "In my blood". This building will be gone is less then half a year, they are going to explode it with TNT to build self storage... It is a sin to knock-down buildings like this, I will be visiting it again this weekend to get more photos before the dreaded day.The Empire wrote:Just the kind of stuff that makes you think of ghosts and paranormal activity. Re: General Photography
So your house is being destroyed? How much did they pay you to leave it? I would just have a hard time leaving my home for any amount of money even more so if it's 300 years old.
That's a shame though. I do like Ghost Adventures too but Zack bugs me a bit.

Sorry, I mistyped... The warehouse is being destroyed, not my house. My mind often jumbles, I know what I want to say but I comes in the wrong order.JCC1004 wrote:So your house is being destroyed? Re: General Photography
Oh, that's still sad. What do you know about the building? What was stored there? I'm just curious. I like old buildings too.
Re: General Photography
From what I was able to figure out from locals it was a papermill, the mill itself has burnt and I did not have a chance to enter what was left of it... It appears the mill was for:JCC1004 wrote:Oh, that's still sad. What do you know about the building? What was stored there? I'm just curious. I like old buildings too.

The area that I was able to get into was the Truck-Bay and storage areas, in the back there are roads leading into the woods onto a Highway and there are what appears to be very large reams of paper still in a basement area, the stair was filled with trash but I was able to take a peak through a small hole on the floor. I mine as well try to get into the mill when I go this weekend...

Re: General Photography
My general photography mainly is based on LEGO and SW figures. I'll show you some of my favourite SW figure pictures:
I also took a picture of a deer in JCC's backyard this morning, it'll be posted later.

That picture isn't worth posting! It is terrible! Plus nobody needs to see my backyard.

Re: General Photography
Octan, you have made me worried! i am now wondering if the old RAF base behind my dad's house will be destroyed!
I will have to get a decent camera, and take some pics. There is no police to worry about up there so I'll need only about half of your gear, plus I own the road its on, so technically we own it...
EDIT- Octan, do you think I should get this?-Clickey
